Community & Social Access
Building independence and connections.
Service Description
Social & Community Participation Support Social and recreational activities are an important part of everyday life. Many people enjoy these activities independently or with support from friends, family, and their community. However, if you need additional assistance to participate because of your disability, our team is here to help. Our Social and Community Participation support helps you get involved in activities that interest you while building confidence, independence, and social connections. This may include attending community events, joining social groups, participating in hobbies, going to the gym, visiting cafés or parks, attending classes, or taking part in local outings and activities. Our support workers can accompany you to activities, provide encouragement, assist with communication, and support you to develop the skills needed to participate more independently in your community. Please note that while we provide the support needed to attend activities, participants are responsible for the general costs associated with them. These are costs that everyone pays, such as membership fees, equipment, tickets, or entry fees. Our goal is to help you stay active, connected, and engaged in your community while enjoying activities that are meaningful to you.
